Two Monroe brothers join the U.S. Army

Monroe - On March 18, U.S. Army PFC Michael Patrick Donohue completed the basic training for military police at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri. Fort Leonard Wood is home of the Maneuver Support, which includes the U.S. Army Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear, Engineer and Military Police schools. Following his graduation from Monroe-Woodbury High School in 2007, Donohue spent the next two years at Rockland County Community College. He is now stationed in Daegu, South Korea, as an M.P. Meanwhile, Donohue’s younger brother John is attending the air assault school at Fort Campbell in Kentucky. PFC John P. Donohue, a 2009 graduate of Monroe-Woodbury High School, completed 20 intense weeks of Military Police basic training at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri on March 4. The young men are the sons of Luisa and Michael Donohue Sr. of Monroe. They are following in their father’s footsteps. The senior Donohue served 24 years in the Army, retiring in 2006 as a command sergeant major with the military police.
