'There are many to carry on his work'

I have had this letter rattling around I my head for a few weeks now. This weekend I was reminded of this because I wanted to call a friend for advice. The friend I thought of was Bob Martell. He passed away on May 25. I want to tell the community, who might not of known him, what a great guy he was. I met Bob through a few people. First by phone, he connected me with a radio program and then in person through a Brownie leader. Bob loved his Brownies. Bob was such a gentlemen. He worked diligently to collect cell phones for the troops. He visited hospitals and constantly worked with the Boy Scouts and the American Legion to collect and send to our soldiers. He was a member of many organizations. The American Legion was just one of these. He was like a family member to many. He was quick with a joke and always in good taste. His e-mails were informative and varied. He always stepped into help me in my collections. He made sure he got me help whenever I had an event and needed it. His helpers were kind and generous with their time. I just want everyone to remember him and to carry on, as he would have. He was a good role model. I thank his wife Pat for sharing him with us. This year I will dedicate my time at the Sacred Heart anysoldier.com Booth to Bob. I know there are many to carry on his work. Yours truly, Kathy Aldinger Monroe
