The Monroe Free Library 'has always been there' for the community

The Monroe Library is a remarkably proficiently-run facility. With its very limited size and budget, it is highly commendable that it provides such an abundance of service to the community. The special programs offered are creative and appreciated by many children and adults. The librarians are always extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I am a volunteer adult literacy teacher. The library enables me to get the instruction books as well as interesting reading material for my students. In addition, I volunteer at a Monroe day center for learning disabled adults. In classes and individual instruction, I need books on different levels to teach reading, math, social studies and science. The staff at the library assists me several times a week to find materials that provide unlimited opportunities to these students. The expertise and support of the library staff has truly assisted me in making a difference in the lives of others. I hope we can all vote yes to support the increased library tax of 25 cents a week. Our neighborhood library provides a truly indispensable way to expand our knowledge, be enlightened and entertained. Their support for us has always been there. Sandy Angrisani Monroe
