'Re-think rhetoric'

The Orange County Young Democrats are deeply saddened by the horrific act of violence this morning in Tucson, Arizona. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Congresswoman Gifford’s family, and all the families affected by this tragedy. While OCYD welcomes political discussion and disagreement, promoting violence of any nature is always wrong. While we do not yet know the reason why the shooter chose to act, the recent political commentary has become more and more dangerous. We hope that in the aftermath of this tragedy those who are the political leaders of our country will re-think their rhetoric, and work hard to end the violent insinuations that have become so common place.
