Who is Irene Conklin?

I was talking to my husband the other night and said, “I wish the village of Monroe knew Irene Conklin so they would know the amazing change that would come to their village.”

And that is what inspired me to write this. I have known Irene Conklin for 12 years. As a co-worker, she is always professional, courteous, caring and reliable.

As a bus driver Irene deals with kids from kindergarten through 12th grade everyday; she is patient, caring, courteous, kind, funny, a disciplinarian, a defensive driver, prompt and professional.

Irene is also the president of the CSEA Union, as president Irene is honest, responsible, knowledgeable, dedicated, compassionate, assertive, ambitious, passionate in doing an exceptional job for justice for all union members, loyal, a fighter, puts in endless hours to assure the best possible results and does not settle for anything less.

She shows exemplary leadership qualities. If any of these attributes seem exaggerated I assure you they are not.

As a friend I can tell you this: Irene Conklin wears her heart on her sleeve, what you see is what you get. She is not a politician; she says what she means and means what she says.

I am fortunate to call Irene Conklin my friend and you would be very fortunate to call Irene Conklin Village Trustee!
