The top reason people have cited for living in Monroe is the character of the natural environment. In survey after survey, our rural nature has come out on top of any list, yet the current town board has voted again and again to allow massive developments. The Dinosaur Park and the development of the Rye Hill Road properties are only two examples. Both were stopped by citizen action.
