Elizabeth Doherty: 'Together we can make the Village of Monroe the envy of other communities'

My name is Elizabeth Doherty and I would like to announce that I am running for Village of Monroe Trustee in the election to be held on Tuesday, March 20.
I was employed at Village Hall for almost seven years, first as deputy clerk and then as deputy treasurer. I am currently the secretary of the Zoning Board of Appeals.
The experience that I have gained in these positions will prove invaluable in executing the duties of a Village Trustee.
In addition, I was the founding chair of the Activities Committee, a volunteer group that organizes community events. I created the Music by the Millponds concert series, I organized a Halloween Parade to Smith's Clove Park and a Picnic by the Ponds. I helped organize the Earth Day festivals and I laid the groundwork for the Summer Carnival which was started after I stepped down as chair.
I also created the popular email list used by Village Hall to communicate important information to our residents.
My platform is simple: To enhance the arts in the Village of Monroe. I believe that the arts will make Monroe a more fun place to live and ultimately increase the value of our community.
I'd love to have plays in the park, movies in the park, a fashion show, a chess tournament. I will bring back the Cheese Festival and it will be better than ever.
Please support my bid for Village Trustee by voting Row D.
    Remember D for Doherty.
Together we can make the Village of Monroe the envy of other communities.
