Amidee 'Bo' Haviland for Woodbury Town Council

| 26 Oct 2017 | 01:40

This November we have an opportunity to elect a Town and Village Board that reflects the interests of the community. The endorsed Democratic Team that won the September primary election speaks to those interests with a mixture of experience, energy and fresh ideas such as open government meetings that will add vitality to local government through public input.
In particular I would like to draw your attention to Amidee “Bo” Haviland. Bo is a former town councilman having served from 2008-2011. He is a fiscal conservative helping to reduce the debt by more than 20 percent and working out a ten-year agreement with Cablevision/Optimum.
As recently as last year Haviland was actively involved in getting the referendum vote on the current town board’s municipal building plan which, incidentally, was defeated by a ratio of 3 to 1, saving valuable citizen taxpayer dollars.
As a member of the Democratic Team Haviland favors open meetings which will help to ensure that town government enlists community involvement prior to expending large sums of money. These are areas where experience and an understanding of the process matters.
Bo Haviland will strive to consolidate town and village government especially in areas that will lessen bureaucracy and administrative costs. Note: Haviland’s strong suit is economics.
Haviland is a strong advocate for protecting the town’s natural resources and preserving Woodbury’s quality of life by showing continued opposition to the potentially contaminating Pilgrim Oil Pipeline.
Amidee Haviland is a straight-talking individual whose goal is to “Represent All the People of Woodbury; Not Just a Select Few.”
After careful consideration, I am asking you to please join me in voting this Election Day, Nov. 7, for Amidee “Bo” Haviland III for Woodbury Town Council.
