    Esteemed Tuxedo residents,

As your new town S=supervisor-elect, I wanted my first action to be a message of thanks for the overwhelming support demonstrated by the election results on Tuesday. I received 63 percent of the votes cast for supervisor.

I’m proud of the campaign that the Tuxedo Democratic Committee organized. We focused on our platform and beliefs.

Our goal was to inspire dialogue and participation in local government.

Many were concerned about the negative campaign messages that were circulated by a small unnamed group in the two weeks prior to the election.

To me, there’s no place for misinformation and anonymous slander of character in elections.

    Some say that’s “politics.”

I say it’s wrong and divisive. Tuxedo expects better than that.

Now it’s time to get down to the business of governance and leadership. I hope to see many of you at Town Hall meetings, the special workshops we plan to hold, town social events, and perhaps out on the trails in Harriman and Sterling Forests.

I’d like to congratulate my running mates Michele Lindsay and Maria May on their election to the town board, as well as Donna Mathews, who was re-elected as Town Clerk and Robert Dollbaum, who was re-elected as the Superintendent of Highways.

I look forward to us all working together for the betterment of Tuxedo.

    Kenneth English

    Tuxedo Town Supervisor-elect
