Tuxedo Police ask public's help in burglary investigation

Tuxedo - The Town of Tuxedo Police are investigating a commercial property burglary at the On the Way Café, located at 549 State Route 17 in the Duck Cedar Plaza, that occurred Sunday, March 27, between 4:09 and 6:30 a.m. Lt. John P. Norton said the glass front door of the cafe was broken and the suspect or suspects reached in, unlocked the door and broke in. Norton said two cash registers were emptied. An ATM machine was carted away, possibly with the use of a hand track. The lieutenant said the exact proceeds are unknown at this time. Tuxedo Police, along with the Orange County Sheriff’s Criminal Identification Unit, are investigating the incident. Tuxedo Police ask that any individual who was in the area between 4 and 6:30 a.m. call the department at 845-351-5111 if you have any information that may help solve this case, or to report anything else you might have seen.
