Tuxedo Park School parents host tennis tournament at the Tuxedo Club

TUXEDO PARK - Playing where no man has played before, Tuxedo Park School father Evan Galbraith of Tuxedo Park marched onto the Tuxedo Club’s tennis courts and walked away a winner. Evan and his court partner, Kara Singh of Montvale, N.J., managed to defeat the Tuxedo Park team of Pam van der Lee and Shauna Muller for the Round Robin Doubles Title. “Congratulations to Evan, Kara, Pam, and Shauna for being such good sports, in every sense of the word,” said Head Master James Burger. Parent and Franklin Lakes, N.J., resident Nancy Ambrose and Tuxedo Park parent Jody Howard orchestrated a great morning of tennis for all the participants as novice players teamed up with the more experienced. Andrea Burdick of Pomona received special kudos for her perseverance and improvement in just two hours. This annual parents’ committee outing for Tuxedo Park School families is a non-fundraising event that provides participants with an opportunity to establish relationships and foster goodwill within the school community. This year, with the addition of its first male player, organizers hope to attract more fathers and, hopefully, include a mixed doubles competition next year. Tuxedo Park School is an independent, co-educational day school serving families living in Orange and Rockland counties in New York and Bergen and Passaic counties in New Jersey.
