This law, now known as Local Law-1 of 2004, was passed during the town board meeting on Monday, April 26. Amid continued debate, the amendment to revoke the code which excludes trucks and buses from certain streets in the Town of Monroe was tabled until the next meeting. This issue is now closed to public hearings and will be voted on by the board. Residents should now receive better service when it comes to water issues. The Town of Monroe closed its deal on the purchase of the Monroe Hills water company, which will now be known as Water District 12. The town will take care of all water related concerns.
