Tournament champions: Monroe United Elite Academy Blasters

The Monroe United U-18 high school travel soccer team won the Hudson Valley Sportsdome High School Division Quickstrike Championship on Feb. 23. Competing against teams from Long Island (Deer Park and Dix Hills) and locally from Cortlandt and Wallkill, the team finished with three wins and one tie and shutting out opponents by a combined 6-0 score. The team competes in D-1 of the East Hudson Youth Soccer League and attracts players from Monroe Woodbury, Cornwall, Newburgh and Tuxedo.
