The 2-0 Crusaders face Warwick Valley this Friday night








CENTRAL VALLEY — The Monroe-Woodbury Varsity Football ran its record to 2-0 with a dominating performance Saturday evening against Stepinac in White Plains.
The Crusaders’ 35-7 victory included a swarming defense that limited Stepinac, last year’s AAA Division finalist, to 179 offensive yards and a lone touchdown that came in the game’s waning moments.
On offense, quarterback Kevin Carr passed for 133 yards, including a scoring pass to Justin Kaffenberger, then added 79 more yards on the ground. At game’s end, Kaffenberger accounted for 78 yards on six catches.
Meanwhile, Mark Tooma rushed for 98 yards and two scores, including a 70-yard punt return.
The team faces the Warwick Valley Wildcats this Friday night in Warwick.
