Monroe Woodbury United launches new premier program

MONROE — The Monroe Woodbury United Soccer Club announces the formation of a Premier program called FORCE FC.
This program was created to provide a high-caliber player and team the opportunity to compete and succeed at the Premier level in MAPS, JAGS, Eastern NY, NYCSL and other premier leagues.
Monroe Woodbury United now offers players and teams the opportunity to play at:
Level 1: Recreational Soccer
Level 2: Classic Travel. Teams will complete in respective travel leagues such as Northern Counties, East Hudson, etc.
Premier Division (FORCE FC): Opportunity for teams to compete in Premier leagues such as NYCSL, ECNL, JAGS, MAPS.
Director of coaching
In addition, the club has appointed Brendan Lawler as “Director of Coaching” to enhance the development of players, coaches and teams at every level within the organization.
Lawler is the head coach of Manhattan College women’s program and has more than 10 years of coaching experience, including collegiate coaching stints at the United States Military Academy at West Point and Marist College in Poughkeepsie. A graduate of Saint Peter’s University, Lawler was a goalkeeper for the Peacocks’ men’s soccer program.
Lawler has been a member of the goal keeping coaching staff for the United States Soccer Federation Region I Olympic Development Program since 2007 and has served as the girls Olympic Development Program head coach within Eastern New York Youth Soccer.
He holds a United States Soccer Federation A License and a National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) advanced national goal keeping diploma with distinguished pass.
Given his experience, knowledge and vast network of collegiate personnel, Monroe Woodbury Soccer officials expect Lawler will establish a coaching and training infrastructure that will help instill a positive philosophy and curriculum that will continue to propel the club forward and enhance player and team development throughout our club.
