PINE ISLAND — On a very wet and misty Monday, Oct. 8, morning, the Crusaders traveled to Capelli Sport Complex in Pine Island to take on the Kingston High School Tigers.
The game was moved to the neutral site after the Crusader home field was deemed unplayable after the recent rain.
The Crusaders, who entered the game with an 12-0 record, had beaten the Tigers earlier this season 3-0 in Kingston.
The Crusaders' Christ Valle started the scoring when he found a loose ball in the box after a scramble and drove it into the Tigers net to put the Crusaders up 1-0.
Jesse Schwartz made it 2-0 when he took a pass from Valle and slipped past the Tiger goalie to tap it into the net.
The Crusaders lead jumped to 3-0 when Ikiel Collins- Brown hit Joseph Olivette with a back pass and he fired a shot into the Tigers goal from outside box.
In the second half, Collins-Brown started the scoring when he intercepted a pass from the Tiger goalie and broke in all alone to score and put the Crusaders up 4-0.
Finally defensemen Olivette stole the ball from Kingston in his defensive zone and weaved his way the length of the field and beat the Kingston goalie to finish off the Tigers.
The Crusaders 5-0 victory brings their record to 13-0. Next up: Washingtonville at home.
