Caroline Helbeck chosen as M-W's 'Athlete of the Week'

CENTRAL VALLEY — Caroline Helbeck, a member of the Monroe-Woodbury Girls Varsity Basketball Team coached by Pat Harris, is the high school's “Athlete of the Week” for the period ending Dec. 22.
Helbeck is the lone senior on the team and is a team captain. A two-sport athlete, her athletic prowess is outshone only by her academic achievements.
A proven winner, she has been a part of six Section IX championships.
"On the soccer field and basketball court, Caroline can be counted on to work hard and provide leadership for the underclassmen," Athletic Director, Lori Hock said in her press release detailing Helbeck's selection. "She is anxious to learn and able to adapt to fast change. Caroline is an asset to the community and more importantly, an excellent teammate."
