On January 3, at about 3:05 p.m. the Woodbury Fire Department responded to a call for a report of a building on fire on Locey Lane by the Woodbury Park and Ride. When firefighters arrived, they were able to pinpoint that the blaze was on the roof of a building currently under construction.

However, 10-foot high parapets around the entire building reportedly made access difficult for the firefighting. But they were able to eventually stretch a line to the roof. According to the fire department, sparks from an operating grinder ignited insulation that then allowed the fire to spread.

Units were back in service at approximately 4 p.m. No injuries were reported.

The site of the fire, 6 Locey Lane, is slated to become a mixed-use commercial site called “The Shops at Woodbury,” with multiple retail storefronts.
