The Monroe United Magic Girls U9 travel soccer team recently earned first place honors at the sixth annual Michael K. Oremus Soccer Tournament, held at the Hudson Valley Sportsdome in Milton. The tournament takes place to honor the spirit of Cpl. Michael Oremus, who was killed by a sniper bullet while on patrol in Baghdad, Iraq, in October 2006. Gathering with their trophies are, in the bottom row and from the left: Grace Wanderling, Kayla Harvey, Tehya Harvey, Serena Aubry-Shea, Giuliana Urciuoli and Ashlie Bauman.
