Editor’s note: An earlier article erroneously stated that Martha Stewart filmed her segment at Rock Ridge Alpacas in Chester. This is the corrected version. CHESTER — Rock Ridge Alpacas will be holding an open house this weekend to celebrate National Alpaca Days. Highlights on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 25 and 26, include a craft class, tours, giveaways, an educational tour, and an invitation to “Shop The Shed.” Wayne and Marsha Oliver’s farm is located at 229 Gibson Hill Road in Chester, and is open most Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 3 p.m. Visitors who cannot make the open house can arrange for a private tour by calling 469-6196 or e-mailing info@rockridgealpacas.com. “The Martha Stewart Show” paid tribute to National Alpaca Days by filming a segment about alpacas at Faraway Farm in Yorktown Heights. Stewart’s crew spent two days at the farm filming scenes about the feeding and care of alpacas, shearing, and the creation of an alpaca garment from fleece to finished product. The show was due to air on the Hallmark Channel on Sept. 23 but the broadcast may be delayed, Marsha Oliver said.
