Monroe-Here is a calendar of key dates in the town of Monroe's budget process (all budget meetings are scheduled to start at 7 p.m. in the John De Angelis Hall): Sept. 23: First budget meeting. Sept. 27: Town Board meeting. Sept. 30: Budget meeting. Tentative budget to be filed with town clerk. Oct. 4: Town Board meeting. Town clerk submits tentative budget to the town board (by law, this must be done by Oct. 5). Oct. 7: Budget meeting. Oct. 14: Budget meeting. Oct. 18: Town board meeting. Notice of public hearing on budget for Nov. 4. Oct. 21: Budget meeting. Oct. 28: Budget meeting. Nov. 1: Town board meeting. Nov. 2: Election Day. Nov. 4: Public hearing on the 2005 budget and special districts, including fire contracts. Nov. 8: Final revision of the preliminary budget. Nov. 15: Town board meeting for the adoption of the budget (this can be done as late as Nov. 20).
