Thank-you to the M-W Middle School 6th Graders and Cablevision’s “Power To Learn-Take a Vet to School Day” on Wednesday. The student presentations to thank the veterans were powerful and hear-warming. They included patriotic music selections, video and verbal presentations by each class. Skype a software application that allows users to make voice calls over the Internet) was used to contact soldiers in Iraq and they were able to converse with the students and answer questions. The Purple Heart Hall of Honor was represented and a World War II veteran spoke of his extreme experiences. What a wonderful way to honor our veterans and what a great learning experience for the students. Thank-you again to all the people who helped in the planning and presentation of this event. I felt honored to be included. Sandy Leonard Monroe Town Supervisor
