For readers, the re-designed site eases reader access to the breadth and depth of The Photo News local news reporting.

In addition, advertisers can deploy a richer array of tools to reach the news site's engaged local audience.
Reader participation Tablets and mobile devices can easily navigate the site, making it even more accessible to a broader audience. The new site will continue in its role as “community water cooler” and encourage discussion of important local topics.
People who wish to comment on stories or to add to the newspaper's reporting, may continue to do so anonymously - with a nickname - after they register with a valid e-mail address.
“We invested heavily in this new technology and design because we're bullish on the future of local news: its ability to foster community, and to connect local readers and local businesses,” Straus said.
