Monroe-Woodbury Rotary raises $8,114 for Salvation Army

MONROE Monroe Woodbury Rotary Club members, working with M-W High School Interact Club members and friends, raised $8,114 during the 2011 holiday season.
Over the past 29 years, the Monroe Woodbury Rotary has participated in the annual Kettle Campaign, raising a total of $163,937 0 for the Salvation Army.
Money raised here is used locally to assist neighbors in need. The local ShopRite, Stop and Shop and Walmart stores provide space for the campaign.
Overall the Kettle Campaign in the Salvation Army Middletown Corps area raised about $109,000. These funds will help the Salvation Army to put a canteen truck on the road to provide aid to the homeless and to support responders to fire scenes or other disasters.
In addition, the Salvation Army helped 700 children with Christmas toys, sent out 425 holiday food baskets and serves hundreds of families at its food bank.
