    Village installs four-way stop at Rye Hill, Mine and Reynolds roads

    Residents are advise to proceed with caution as the Village of Monroe installs a four-way stop at the intersection of Rye Hill, Mine and Reynolds Road.

    The work began July 10. Police will be onsite during construction as well as after its completion.

    Book sale set for July 22

    Friends of the Monroe Free Library are having a book sale in Saturday, July 22, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. under the MFL tent.

    Paperbacks will be priced at 50 cents each, hardcovered books at $1 each; there also will be a special books table at $2 - $25.

    The proceeds from the book sale will be used to purchase furniture for the library’s children’s department.

    The rain date is the following Saturday, July 29.

    Summer Concert Series continues July 22 with N.Y. Swing Exchange

    The New York Swing Exchange headline the Village of Monroe Summer Concert Series this Saturday, July 22, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Millpond.

    The rain date is Sunday, July 23, from 7 to 9 p.m.

    Lions Club to host community garage sale on Aug. 13

    The Monroe Lions Club will hold a community garage sale on Sunday, Aug. 13, from 9 a.m. to 2 p. m., at the Harriman Army-Navy parking lot, located at 186 Route 17M in Harriman.

    Vendors can rent space for $35 or $50 with a tent.
