CENTRAL VALLEY — Throughout the school year, the transportation department at the Monroe-Woodbury School District recognizes the efforts of its bus drivers and monitors.

The effort is part of the district’s award-winning program that and is one of the reasons the district’s transportation department is ranked about the top 100 in the United States.

These buses were recognized in the spring:

Middle School Bus #515, driver Donna Pascullo

In her evaluation, Pascullo wrote: “I am so proud of my students constant great behavior on the bus. They are very respectful to me and to one another. They keep the bus clean, they stay in their seats and always keep the noise level down. They follow all the safety rules, my crossers are great. When we had a sub-driver I was told they were a great bunch of students and I couldn’t agree more.”

Smith Clove Elementary School Bus #390, driver Kathy Riordan and bus attendant Terry Dunn.

Riordan wrote: “Our students behave very well. They don’t put their feet in the aisle or wear their school bags on their backs when seated. I never have to ask them to buckle up. They do it on their own! We play a quiz game about the bus rules they can answer all the questions correctly.”

Pine Tree Elementary School Bus #459, driver Evelyn Miller, also was selected as one of the buses of the month.
