MONROE — This year, Sacred Heart Church gathered 40 of its own young parishioners to help other young people in the community by supporting the Parish’s “Kids Helping Kids” program. What the parish kids did was to wrap more than 150 standard “Marble” notebooks and #2 pencils in decorative patterns made of colorful duct tape to be sold at this year’s carnival, which runs from Thursday through Sunday, July 26 through 29, on church property at Still Road in Monroe. The packages are great back-to-school supplies. Sacred Heart will donate the proceeds to the community-centered “Kids Helping Kids” Parish program. The program provides healthy summer lunches to Monroe-Woodbury elementary school kids who receive free lunches during the school year - but not during the summer break.
