MONROE — Sacred Heart Church in Monroe will host a free Lenten soup and bread supper, called “An Evening of Hope,” tomorrow, Feb. 25, at 6:30 p.m. in the Sacred Heart School gym.

Following the meal, officials said workshops will be offered and will feature a first-hand account on ministries to the hungry on the local, state and international levels.

The ministries to the hungry include the work done by Sacred Heart Parish Outreach, Our Father’s Kitchen, the emergency food pantry, Our Mother’s Cupboard, and the upcoming Midnight Run, sponsored by the church’s youth group, who will travelling to Manhattan to deliver, backpacks with blankets, hats, gloves and food.

While the event is free, officials added “pocket change” will be welcome. Babysitting will be provided for infants up to children age five.

The event has been organized by the Footsteps in Faith Committee, which offers religious education opportunities for families.

To confirm a spot, call Sacred Heart Parish Outreach at 783-7840 or e-mail to sacredheartparishoutreach@frontier.com.
