Graduations The following students earned bachelor’s degrees from The University of Scranton:

Nora A. Bompensiero of Highland Mills majored in nursing in the university’s Panuska College of Professional Studies.

Kaitlyn A. Neenan of Highland Mills majored in elementary education/special education in the university’s Panuska College of Professional Studies.

Thomas P. Lapolla of Monroe majored in finance in the university’s Kania School of Management.

Sean T. O’Sullivan of Monroe majored in finance in the university’s Kania School of Management.

Dean’s list Laura Bakst, a rising sophomore at Cornell University, made the dean’s list for the spring 2012 semester with a 4.0 GPA. The resident of Highland Mills is majoring in industrial and labor relations.

Jessica Gregory of Monroe was named to the dean’s list for the winter quarter of 2012 at DePaul University in Chicago. In order to qualify for the Dean’s List at DePaul, students must earn above a 3.0 grade point average on a four point scale.

Richard Siegler III, the son of Rosemary and Richard of Monroe, was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2012 semester at The Honors College at William Paterson University. Rich is a senior and will be applying early to Florida State University’s History and Institute of Napoleonic Studies Graduate Program.

Justin A. Meshulam, the son of Eliot and Shari Meshulam of Highland Mills and a 2011 graduate of Monroe-Woodbury High School, was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2012 semester at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pa.

A student must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a scale of 4.0 to receive dean’s list recognition.

The following students were named to the president’s list for the spring 2012 semester at the State University of New York at Geneseo:

Deirdre Croke from Monroe. Kayla Molaro from Monroe.

Hannah Wagner from Monroe. To qualify, a student must have achieved an A in all coursework (4.0 grade point average) while taking at least 12 credit hours.

The following students were named to the dean’s list for the spring 2012 semester at the State University of New York at Geneseo:

William Jefferson Alvarez from Highland Mills.

Alyssa DePhillips from Monroe. Katherine Weber from Monroe.

To qualify, a student must have achieved a 3.5 grade point average while taking at least 12 credit hours.
