CENTRAL VALLEY — Smith Clove Elementary School kindergartners and first-graders continued their Olweus anti-bullying program awareness with the creation of bully-free message banners.

During the recent Red Ribbon Week, classes lined up with their banners while wearing Olweus T-shirts donated by the school’s PTA.

Each class had the opportunity to recite the message written on their banner, according to officials.

Afterward, a school parade around the playground was held with students singing:

“We don’t like bullying in our school

“… it isn’t nice and it isn’t cool

“…every school has a right to be

“…safe and fun and bully-free.”

Officials said the parade served as a visual reminder to “the students that Smith Clove is a safe place to come to school and while working together, each student will do their part to ensure that it remains a bully-free zone.”
