Harriman - Every week for their homework, the students in Jean Weinberg’s religious education class at St. Anastasia Parish in Harriman were asked to bring in a canned good for the local pantries. “And without fail, each week I had a bag of food to drop off,” Weinberg recounted. For their end-of-year project, the class choose to make a care package for the troops serving overseas. It was generously filled with snacks, toiletries and letters from each student, Weinberg added. “They worked hard,” she said. “They deserve the recognition.”
