Kids Night! with West Point band set for Sunday

West Point The West Point Band will present Kids Night! on Sunday, July 10, at West Point’s Trophy Point Amphitheatre at 7 p.m. The West Point Band’s Quintette 7 will present a night of high energy music and activities. Kids will leave the event with take-aways like crayons and bubbles. Quintette 7 will perform energetic pieces from cartoons such as Looney Tunes and put a comical spin on classics like Sousa’s “Stars and Stripes Forever” and Tchaikovsky’s “1812 Overture,” while leading the audience through a “day in the life” of a West Point Band member. Children will be invited to come close to the stage and participate in activities the band members perform as soldier/musicians in the United States Army, guided by the night’s announcer, Master Sgt. Matt Wozniak. Bring budding musicians early to hear brass quintets from the West Point Band at 6:15 p.m. as they stroll the grounds of Trophy Point and offer an “instrument petting zoo” at 6:30 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.
