Employees from St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital recently took part in a “Polar Bear Plunge” at Sharpe Reservation in support of the Special Olympics. Staff members from all different departments took the plunge and raised $4,000 to help provide athletic competitions for those with intellectual disabilities. “You are uncomfortable for a few moments but the people we are doing it for face tremendous challenges,” said George Sommers, an x-ray technician at the hospital.
