Get a massage, support the food pantry
MONROE - For those thinking about trying a massage for the first time, or looking to find a gift for someone who has everything, Stillpond Massage on Route 17M in Monroe is offering a way to get a last minute gift while helping the hungry. Throughout February, Stillpond will donate five percent of its February proceeds to the food pantry at the First Presbyterian Church on Still Road in Monroe. “We want to give back to the community,” said Ron Mutone, who co-owns the business with wife Bethany Mutone. “It’s the least we can do. Folks donate all kinds of good food to the pantry and we want to show our support of that effort. We’re trying to do our part.” Mutone is trying to raise as much money as possible because “whatever amount is raised is more than the food pantry previously had.” Integrated one-hour massages range from $75 to $90; and $45 for a half-hour massage. Student and senior discounts are also available, he said. The office has four dedicated massage suites and Mutone noted his massage clients range run the gamut from high school athletes, to couples looking for an evening out, and even senior citizens looking for muscle pain relief. Stillpond uses different massage modalities, such as Swedish, neuromuscular therapy or hot stone. The approach that will work best for clients is determined during the intake process, he said. “Their money is going toward helping the pantry as well,” added Mutone. All gift certificates purchased during February tally, but they can be used any time recipients want to redeem them. “It is a great gift,” said Mutone. “We use massage in a proactive way to deal with muscle problems and to keep healthy.” For more information, call 783-0343 or visit www.stillpondmassage.com.
