    Graduations Jessica Szydlowski of Monroe graduated magna cum laude from Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh with a bachelor in science degree in nursing Dec. 17, 2010. She also holds a bachelor of science degree in neuroscience and philosophy from the University of Miami. Dean’s list The following students have been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2010 semester at Northeastern University in Boston: Emma Case of Monroe, who not yet declared her major. Marione Besas of Harriman, who is majoring in Speech-Language Pathology-Audiology. Shannon DeNoia of Monroe, who is majoring in Communication Studies. To qualify, a student must carry a full program of at least four courses and have a quality point average of 3.5 or greater. Ryan L. Marrone of Highland Mills, a senior at St. John’s University in Queens, was named to the dean’s list for the fall 2010 semester. As a sports management major, Ryan carried a GPA of 3.8 for the semester. He is also completing an internship position in the Hockey/Game Operations Department for the New York Islanders. Ryan, a 2007 Monroe-Woodbury graduate, is the son of Thomas and Diane Marrone of Highland Mills. Ben Kiviat, son of Marc and Janice Kiviat, was named to the the dean’s list for the fall semester at the School of Visual Arts in New York City, where he is majoring in film and screenwriting. His GPA for the semester was 4.0. He is scheduled to graduate in May. The following students were named to the dean’s list for the fall 2010 semester at the University of Scranton: Briana Calvano of Harriman, a sophomore early and primary teacher education major. Kaitlyn Neenan of Highland Mills, a junior elementary education/special education major. Joseph Lofstedt of Monroe, a sophomore early and primary teacher education major. Brianne Netel of Monroe, a sophomore marketing major. Students at the Jesuit university must have a grade point average of 3.5 or better with a minimum number of credit hours to make the list. Omar Masood of Central Valley, the son of Dr. Ahmad Masood and Dr. Saberi Ali, was named to the merit list of Oxford College, the two-year liberal arts division of Emory University located in Oxford, Ga., for the 2010 fall semester. Students must earn a grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the previous semester to be named to the Merit List. Michael Christopher Kennedy of Monroe was named to the dean’s list for the fall 2010 semester at the Thomas J. Watson School of Engineering at Binghamton University, State University of New York.
