Monroe American Legion Post 488 recently held a picnic to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America. The post invited members of Boy Scouts Troop 440 and their families to mark the occasion. Post 488 is the charter holder for Troop 440. Martin Currid, charter representative and first vice commander of the post, arranged and hosted the picnic. The day included a special sheet cake, depicting the Boy Scout symbol, and honorary statements.
