Michael J. Birish
Michael J. Birish of Tuxedo passed away on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012, at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, N.J. He was 66 and a lifelong resident of Tuxedo.
Son of Joseph P. and Beatrice Smith Birish, he was born July 6, 1945, in Tuxedo.
Michael was an employee of Orange & Rockland Utilities for 40 years and was a foreman in the utilitys gas department in Spring Valley.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Arm,y serving during Vietnam. He also was a member of Tuxedo American Legion Post 293.
He is survived by his wife Karen L. Sek Birish of Tuxedo; son, Joseph Birish and his fiancee Lauren of Holyoke, Mass.; daughter Stacie L. Rondo and husband Jason of Greenwood Lake; brothers, William Birish of Suffern and James Birish of Goshen; two grandchildren Kaycie and Katie Rondo.
He was predeceased by his brother, Joseph Birish Jr. and his sister Beatrice Kimmenau.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Feb. 22, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Ave., Monroe.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 23, at St. Anastasia Parish Church, Route 17M, Harriman. Interment will follow in St. Anastasia Cemetery in Harriman.
