Kevin Walsh
Kevin Walsh passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2014.
Born in Middletown on June 14, 1992, he was a lifelong resident of Monroe, and then spent his last year in Southfields.
Kevin was an incredibly bright and kind young man, and his sense of humor was appreciated by all who knew him.
His life was short and we will never know what he may have accomplished in the future; he was just getting started.
Kevin was an accomplished swimmer both with the Monroe-Woodbury Marlins and the Monroe-Woodbury Varsity Swim Team.
He also was a fearless skateboarder and snowboarder. There was never a physical challenge too great for him, and he truly enjoyed taking a dare.
He loved the ocean and was always the person swimming way too far out past the surf.
Kevin is survived by the family who loved him so well; his mother, Susan Bates, his father, Patrick Walsh, his older brother Patrick Walsh and younger brother Steven Walsh, all of Southfields. He also leaves behind his maternal grandmother, Nancy Wood, of Vineyard Haven, Mass., and his paternal grandfather, Patrick Walsh of Chester. He had many aunts, uncles, cousins, and many, many close friends.
Visitation was to be held from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 18, followed by a prayer service at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Ave., Monroe.
Cremation will take place at Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Monroe Volunteer Ambulance Corps, PO Box 841, Monroe, NY 10949.
Arrangements were by Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home. For additional information, call 845-782-8185 or visit online at www.ssqfuneralhome.com.
