Joseph V. Formale

    Joseph V. Formale of Monroe passed away Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, at Orange Regional Medical Center in the Town of Wallkill. He was 50 and had been a resident of the area for 22 years.

    The son of Vincenza Vinci Formale and Antonio Formale, he was born June 8, 1962, in the Bronx.

    Joseph was a computer programmer with UBS Paine Webber Financial Services in Weehawken, N.J.

    Survivors include his wife, Catherine A. Gentile Formale at home; his mother Vincenza Formale of Bedford; his son Michael A. Formale of Monroe; his daughters Dana N. Formale of Monroe and Gabrielle R. Formale of Monroe; his brother Anthony Formale of Mahopac; his sisters Frances Sibrizzi of Thornwood and Margharetta Long of Bedford; and nieces and nephews.

    His family’s statement reads: “Joe was a devoted husband and father who provided for his family. He suffered a long time with scleroderma and finally said goodbye to us after complications from his illness. He was a longtime fan of the New York Yankees and proud of his Italian heritage and his country.”

    A funeral Mass was to be celebrated at 10 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 18, at Sacred Heart Church, 26 Still Road, Monroe. Cremation will take place at Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope.
