Woodbury Public Library announces programs available during February for adults
HIGHLAND MILLS — The following is a list of events for adults at the Woodbury Public Library:
“Love-Ink Every Minute of It,” art program conducted by Joanne Barclay
• Saturday, Feb. 10, 1:30-3:00 p.m. at the Woodbury Senior Center (adjacent to the Highland Mills branch of the library
Create your own special message of love for someone dear to you. Barclay will lead a workshop of Stampin’ Up creativity. All materials will be provided. Registration is required. Limit 15 adult patrons.
• Writers’ Club Session
Tuesday, Feb. 13, 6:30 p.m.
We’ll be discussing self-publishing and online tips to help get your work noticed. Share your own experience: tell us of your expectations, hurdles faced, who provided guidance and assistance and how you achieved success.
• Book Discussion Club
Wednesday, Feb. 21, 6:30 p.m.
The selection for February is “The Velveteen Daughter” by Laurel Davis Huber. The novel may be requested online or in person using your individual RCLS library card (your copy will be delivered to the High-land Mills branch for pick-up). Registration is required.
• “The Chain that Saved the Colonies” Presentation with Donald “Doc” Bayne, historian and environmental educator
Saturday, Feb. 24, 1:30-3:00 p.m. at the Woodbury Senior Center
Experience the rich history of our area as Bayne recounts the spellbinding facts of Orange County’s participation in the Revolutionary War. Bayne will chronicle his discovery of the forge that made the Great Chain in the Sterling Forest. Learn about the iron industry that began in 1736, and the key role it played in securing our nation’s freedom. Registration is required.
