Goshen — Approximately 500 participants are expected at this year’s Light The Night Walk at The Orange County Government Center on Saturday, Oct. 23, starting at 7 p.m. Registration will begin at 5 p.m., with opening ceremonies at 6:30 p.m. The walk raises money for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Westchester/Hudson Valley Chapter. Teams of co-workers, families and friends walk together in twilight holding illuminated balloons — white for survivors, red for supporters and gold for those walking in memory of a loved one lost to blood cancer. The evening’s events also include food, family activities and fireworks. The honored patient of this year’s walk is Jennifer O’Leary of Chester, a survivor of Chronic Myeloid Leukemia. She will share her story during the opening ceremonies and lead the walkers with her family and team. For more information visit www.lightthenight.org/wch.
