‘Great Lucy Look-alike Contest and Grape Stomp Festival’ highlights Palaia Vineyards’ weekend Highland Mills — The “Great Lucy Look-alike and Grape Stomp Festival” will highlight the Sept. 24 to 26 weekend at Palaia Vineyards in Highland Mills. The festival on Saturday, Sept. 25 will run rain or shine from noon to 10 p.m. and includes a variety of vendors, performances by Macaroni the Clown and Chris Palmerini and the grape stomp. The band “You Guys” will play from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. The Lucy look-alike contest will take place after the BBQ dinner, with the winner receiving a case of wine. The Lucy look-alikes will get into bins and stomp the grapes. Afterward, everyone will be invited to squish grapes. Last year, 13 people appeared as Lucy (and one Ricky). On Friday, Sept. 24 Robert Schiff from 7 to 10 p.m.; on Sunday, Sept. 26, ”Left at the Lama” will play 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. The following week, the vineyard will host a benefit for the Woodbury Gatehouse, part of the Historical Society of Woodbury, with a blues festival on Sunday with many bands and some talent giving their time for the cause. Admission is $10 at the gate per person.
