Souza Scholarship announces 'The Phantom Tollbooth Jr.' cast


CENTRAL VALLEY — The Souza Scholarship for the Performing Arts has announced the cast for its upcoming summer production of “The Phantom Tollbooth Jr.” Production co-director Dominick Pascullo described the process that he and co-director Sarah Fields went through in choosing the talented young players for this show which benefits the scholarship: “We put out a casting call for all young actors between the ages of 14-18 and were met with a wonderful group of ‘auditioners,’” Pascullo said. “Everyone who has joined our cast has an incredible amount of positive energy and extraordinary talent that we were able to see on that first day. “Our first rehearsal,” he added, “merely cemented our view, as everyone approached the project with the enthusiasm and creativity that has led to a wonderful rehearsal environment, and which has helped to create a truly wonderful and unique show that highlights every single one of our cast members.” The cast of Souza’s The Phantom Tollbooth Jr. includes:

Alizette Hidalgo, M-WHS – Advisor. Lilliana Kulak, M-WHS - Princess Reason. Gabrielle Lacen, M-WHS - Advisor/Head Miner. Cody Nardone, M-WHS – Milo. Trevor Nardone, M-WHS - The Whether Man. “Also, they are led in the series of dance numbers in our show by our wonderful choreographer Lauren Alifano, herself a MWHS graduate,” Pascullo hastened to add.

Friday, Aug. 3, at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4 at both 2 and 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, at 2 p.m.
