Quakers host ice cream social in Cornwall this Saturday

CORNWALL — The Quakers in Cornwall are throwing an all-you-can eat ice cream party at their historical Meeting House on Quaker Avenue on Saturday, Sept. 29, starting at 1 p.m.
The Cornwall Quakers have hosted country fairs, open houses, used book sales and other community events over the years, Clerk Elizabeth Pozo noted in the press release announcing the social. “We thought this year we might try something new,” she added.
Toppings and homemade baked goods are also available, and a single $6.00 ticket entitles visitors to as many returns to the ice cream bar as they wish.
“Last scoops are at 3:00,” Pozo added.
Visitors also will have the opportunity to come into the Meetinghouse and become familiar with the activities and testimonies of the Religious Society of Friends, which has worshipped in the building every Sunday since 1790.
