Sugar Loaf — The Air Pirates Radio Theater, the only theater of its kind, continues its 2010 spring season with “Herb Marks Freelance: Not All Fortunes are Found in Cookies” on Saturday, Nov. 13 at 8 p.m. at the Lycian Centre. A mixture of live contemporary interactive theater and old time radio comedy, the Air Pirates perform the staged readings as they broadcast live on the radio. An ensemble of four actors portray all the characters while the audience is asked to produce the sound effects. The Cue Card Girl lets the audiences know when it’s time to slam a door, make the footsteps and even shoot the guns during the shows. The Pirates even perform the radio commercials live asking the audience to supply the necessary sounds. “Herb Marks Freelance” concludes the company’s fourth season. This season the Pirates have been broadcasting live from the Lycian Centre. By using a direct feed to the Internet the shows have been heard worldwide in real time. Thanks to Hit the Road Productions, the company’s sound production team, the Pirates are being listen to in Turkey, London, Texas and even Kansas. Tickets to the performance are $15. For this season listeners need to log onto WTBQ.com and click “listen live” to hear the live performance on Nov. 13, to be broadcast at 8:30 p.m. For information and to order tickets call 469-7563 or visit www.airpiratesradiotheater.com.
