Sugar Loaf — The Air Pirates Radio Theater, a mixture of live contemporary interactive theater and old time radio drama, continues the second half of its season of live radio plays at the Lycian Centre in Sugar Loaf with “Los Tres Balceneros: They Ride Like the Purple Haze” on Saturday, Oct. 16. The singing cowboys made their debut in 2007 and quickly became a popular part of the company’s repertoire. The Air Pirates Radio Theater was voted the Best Performing Troupe in the Hudson Valley by the Times Herald Record in both 2007 and 2009. On Oct. 16 the Pirates will present the second episode of the adventures of Ringo, Sunny and the Kid. Each episode tells the tale of three wayward caballeros and their good deeds. Written in the style of old-time western radio, the shows include singing cowboys and contemporary references. Each show requires the audience to participate by producing the sound effects.
