Shake off the terrors of winter — the polar vortices and the bomb cyclones and the horrible, dreadful, no good black ice — and think green. You'll be perfectly within your rights, as the Mid-Hudson St. Patrick's Parade returns to Goshen this Sunday, March 11. Everybody will be wearing that lovely spring color, dachshunds and pet goats too. The day begins with a 9 a.m. mass at The National Shrine of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, 70 Carmelite Drive, Middletown. At 10:30 a.m., following the mass, is the Grand Marshal’s Brunch at Kuhl’s Highland House, 512 Highland Avenue, Middletown. Then comes the parade, which will line up starting at noon in the Orange County Government Center parking lot, then step off at 2 p.m. The Mid-Hudson St. Patrick's Parade Committee will on Friday post the route on its Facebook page, which is graced with the photo above and the message: "Fine men of Orange County AOH right past Kelley Jean's Restaurant!" Why not join them?
