Local designer to present workshop

WARWICK — Local designer and business owner Marina Case Alario will offer a free decorating workshop titled “Your Home: The Story of Your Life,” at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 6 at the Warwick Grove Neighborhood Center, at 12 Cropsey St., in Warwick. Alario is principal designer for The Red Shutters, a national interior design firm with Warwick roots. Participants will learn about four iconic styles of interior design — traditional, modern, tribal and fun — and how to blend each style to create an interior. Alario will provide examples of how design can reflect an individual’s life story - whether displaying artifacts from travels, beloved antiques, cherished furniture pieces or a specific collection built over a lifetime. In addition, she will share “green decorating” strategies, for example, updating good pieces that one may already own that tell a personal story.
