Warwick - The Eclectic Eye Antiques, 16-18 Railroad Ave. in the Village of Warwick, recently acquired two important estate collections just in time for Ladies Night Out. That celebration is scheduled for this coming Thursday evening, Aug. 26. Although the Eclectic Eye store is usually filled with interesting and affordable antiques, the new acquisitions will add several hundred pieces of Missoni clothing along with over 500 pieces of one woman’s lifetime collection of artisan jewelry to its inventory. Missoni is an Italian fashion house based in Varese and famous for its unique knitwear, made from a variety of fabrics in colorful patterns. Although everything will be displayed and on sale for “Ladies Night Out”, those who would like to see an early preview of these items, are invited to a preview sale night on Wednesday, Aug. 25, from 5 to 8:30 p.m. The Missoni couture clothing, from the New York Tolbert Estate, will be offered at a fraction of original cost. “The Tolbert’s were personal friends of the Missonis from the 1950s to the present,” said Eclectic Eye owner George Laurence. “Many of the items are one-of-a-kind gifted pieces, samples and limited run exclusives. And all are in wonderful condition and priced to sell.” The artisan jewelry estate collection includes amber, ivory, coral, African trade beads, carnelian, copal, silver and interesting hand crafted beads all gathered from numerous trips abroad. “Imagine yourself traveling the world for years collecting wonderful artisan jewelry,” said Laurence. “Come to our sale and if you’re a jewelry lover or a jewelry crafter, you will be in heaven.” For additional information call 986-5520.
