Warwick — Members of the Warwick Valley Quilters’ Guild have been busy with outreach projects. Members displayed their completed quilts that will be donated to the Orange County Social Service organization later this year. Quilts are made for homebound seniors and for foster children. The guild members have also been making Walker Bags for nursing home residents for many years. This year, the members have also taken on a project called “Just One Star” which is a quilt block containing either a red or blue star. These blocks will be donated for the Quilts of Valor which are made for servicemen and women who have been injured in Iraq and Afghanistan. The Semper Fi Fund organization will be putting the quilts together. As of the May Business Meeting, Warwick Valley Quilters’ Guild will be donating approximately 60 blocks for that project.
